Welcome to our Gardening and Composting Page. We are strong believers in organic composting and hope to convince you to join us in growing wonderful flowers and vegetables. We hope this page will inform you, give you some ideas and if you have questions, post them on our message board.
The first rule of thumb in gardening is " if you have $20 to spend, then spend $19 on your soil and $1 on your plant" Another way to say this is, "you can put a perfectly healthy plant in poor soil and chances are it will perform poorly, conversely if you put a sick plant in excellent soil the chances are it will thrive"
We have had the best results working our soil with organic compost that we make ourselves. We invested in a compost tumbler and started adding organics to it. We like to add about 1/3 leaves, 1/3 manure and 1/3 coffee grounds add water to keep it moist and let nature do the rest. Within 2 to 3 weeks you will have an excellent organic compost to work into the soil. Your plants will love it and produce for you.
